Everyday habits through play
Anna Trennt
Anna Trennt makes Frankfurt am Main’s waste-sorting rules easier to understand through play. Short levels, explanations and furnishing Anna’s apartment turn the everyday question “Which bin does this go in?” into hands-on practice.

The idea behind the project
Sorting waste seems simple until you are holding a particular item: a used tissue, a yoghurt pot or a broken cup. The material alone does not always tell you the answer, and local rules add another layer.
Anna Trennt turns these situations into small game tasks. You choose the right bin, complete levels and gradually become familiar with everyday items. The reference guide offers explanations when you want to look something up. The game focuses on Frankfurt am Main rather than claiming that the same rules apply in every city.
Progress also takes shape in Anna’s home. Playing earns coins and eco-crystals, which you can use to buy furniture and furnish her apartment. This adds a personal goal to the learning: making the home more welcoming as sorting becomes more familiar.
The project is intended to remain free, with no monetisation planned. The browser version is currently being developed, with Android and iOS apps planned for the future. The public website currently shows Coming soon; the game is being developed and tested on a separate staging website.
